Charlton Athletic Football Club

One DVD, 71 goals

As the excitement builds ahead of the new campaign, fans can recall the roller-coaster ride of last season after the ‘League One Goals 2009/10’ DVD went on sale

From the club record six successive wins at the start of the campaign to the heartbreaking defeat on penalties in the play-off semi-finals, Charlton’s first season in the third tier for 28 years proved to have highs and lows.

Summer uncertainty about the club’s financial situation meant manager Phil Parkinson was unable to properly plan as Charlton aimed to return to the Championship at the first time of asking.

And although the Addicks remained in the two automatic promotion spots until the turn of the year, they slipped into the play-off places during the bout of severe weather and were unable to claw their way back – despite a dramatic final fixture against Oldham Athletic when promotion was briefly in their hands.

The League One Goals 2009/10 DVD, priced £12.99, contains all 71 league goals, plus action from the play-offs and cup fixtures. There is also an exclusive interview with Parkinson reflecting on the club’s fortunes during the season.
