Charlton Athletic Football Club

Killer awaits fans

Charlton legend Derek 'Killer' Hales will be in the Valley Superstore prior to Saturday's game with Stockport County to sign merchandise and chat to fans

Supporters can also take advantage of a special offer while Hales is in store from 12.30-2pm, with anyone who spends at least £5 (excluding programmes and vouchers) getting a free scarf for their troubles.

The legendary Burro/Hales T-shirts, which portray the former Addicks striker in a Che Guevara-style pose, are sure to fly off the shelves on Saturday.

Priced £24.99, the T-shirt is designed by Covent Garden-based Addicks fans Burro, and is available in medium, large and extra large from the Superstore, by calling 020-8333 4035 or online.

Nicknamed 'Killer' and known for his predatory instincts in front of goal, Hales, one of the most famous figures to have worn the red shirt, hit the net 168 times in 368 games for Charlton. He remains the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

The club's popular retro range will also be in stock on Saturday. There are no fewer than five retro shirts on sale, ranging from the home and away FADS-sponsored jerseys from the 1980s to iconic kits from the previous two decades. There is also a 1982 classic Charlton track jacket - and the full range of Addicks retro wear can be viewed online.

Also available for just £15 on Saturday are shirts autographed individually by every member of the Addicks squad.

From starlet Jonjo Shelvey to skipper Nicky Bailey, each shirt has been penned with the name and number of supporters' selected player. As well as being ready for business before kick-off, the Superstore will also be open for a maximum of 30 minutes after the final whistle.

The sizes of the shirts range from extra large to 3XL, and if fans can't make it to the Superstore, the jerseys can also be ordered online

Meanwhile, the Addicks are still offering free postage on all purchases over £40 via the online Superstore. What's more, every supporter who spends more than £10 online will automatically receive a free trainingwear scarf worth £11.99.

Supporters can also further throw their weight behind Charlton's Street Violence Ruins Lives campaign by purchasing some unique merchandise.

Continuing the club's passionate partnership with the Rob Knox Fund - set up following the tragic death of the teenage supporter in May 2008 - the Valley Superstore is now stocking some poignant products, including T-shirts, car stickers and mugs.
